Earth Tech was originally founded as a regionally based geotechnical firm, serving clients, such as the U.S. Department of Defense, energy companies, and public and private utility companies.
Over the next two decades, organic growth and strategic acquisitions served as the platform foundation of the company's expansion of its service offerings and geographic presence.
With the growth of environmental awareness in the 1980s, Earth Tech evolved into one of the nation's leaders in the environmental services market. By the 1990s, Earth Tech offered engineering, remediation, construction, contract operations and management, air quality management, water and wastewater engineering, solid waste management and transportation and infrastructure engineering services. In 1996 the company was acquired by Tyco International Ltd. and is now a key unit of the Tyco Engineered Products & Services business segment.
Today, Earth Tech provides a full suite of consulting, engineering and construction services to the transportation, facilities and water/wastewater markets, and environmental markets across the world. Our reputation for innovative work on small and major projects continues to be the platform for our growth.

Five Fast Facts on Earth Tech projects
- Earth Tech has constructed the UK's first commercial scale anaerobic disgestion facilities for Comhairle nan Eilean Siar (The Western Isles Council) on the Isle of Lewis and Benbecula, in northwest Scotland.
- As part of the BREY consortium, Earth Tech are responsible for delivering the water & wastewater services for 1032 sites across south-west England, Midlands and Wales for the UK Ministry of Defence.
- Earth Tech is managing the wastewater assets and services for MOL's Oil & Gas Company at its Duna Refinery in Hungary for 15 years.
- Knostrop Incinerator near Leeds, project managed by Earth Tech, was the first UK incinerator to generate power aswell as re-use waste heat.
- Earth Tech have designed and constructed 10 water and wastewater treatment plants for Water Services Northern Ireland over the past 8 years.
